Looking for a cheap new car? The 2023 Nissan Versa is your best bet.
With a starting price of $15,730, the Versa is the least expensive new car in America for 2023, according to a report from Kelley Blue Book.
Nissan charges an additional $1,095 to deliver the subcompact car, KBB reports.
Just three subcompact cars are left on the market for 2023, according to KBB. They are the:
- Nissan Versa (starting at $15,730)
- Mitsubishi Mirage (starting at $16,245)
- Kia Rio (starting at $16,550)
KBB notes that despite its slightly higher cost, the Rio may be the best choice of the three. It has the longest warranty and “may also be the best-looking of the group” — although that is not saying much. As KBB explains:
“Subcompact sedans, as a rule, are not attractive vehicles. Automakers tend to design all their sedans to look similar for brand awareness. The face that looks right on a midsize car usually looks bulbous and comical when shrunk down to subcompact proportions.”
Two other subcompacts — Chevrolet’s Spark and Hyundai’s Accent — have gone to that scrap heap in the sky after the manufacturers chose not to produce new 2023 models.
