Chrysler, also known as FCA US LLC, is recalling thousands of vehicles citing a potential issue with the liftgate hinge cover that could increase the risk of a collision.
According to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recall notice, 11,767 vehicles are potentially impacted by this recall.
“The liftgate hinge cover may not be properly clipped into position and may detach from the vehicle,” the agency noted.

The safety recall report noted that there is no identification of warning, “however, the driver may hear a rattling noise while driving or notice that either one or both of the hinge covers are not fully seated.”
The recall number is 26D.
What You Should Do if You Have the Recalled Chrysler Vehicle
Notification letters are set to be sent out on May 1. Owners can take their vehicle to the dealership, and if necessary, the hinge cover will be repaired or replaced for free.
