There are many things men would do differently after reflecting on their lives. As the common saying goes, “Hindsight is 20/20.” If they knew then what they know now, their life choices might have been different. In an online community, a group of men shared one piece of advice they believe all men should know about life.
1. Never Sacrifice Your Integrity
Integrity is the only thing that no one can ever take from you. You have to give it away. A user said, “They can take your money, job, dignity, clothes, and house, but they can never forcibly take your integrity.” Another person shared that maintaining your integrity can save your life down the line.
2. Life Is Not a Competition
“Stop trying to one-up another, you’re not going to win anything, and even if you did, there’s no prize for winning,” one user shared. They add, “Instead, lay back and focus on something important to you, not something everyone tells you is important.”

A user said that there are “get rich quick” schemes that have ruined some people’s lives. “Immediately, they told me all I had to do was pay for all the products, and you resell them.” Instead, a more long-term ongoing success shared by another was “work hard, save your money, and you will never have to look over your shoulder.”
6. Stay In Shape

Unsurprising, according to one user, “There are dudes out there that will freak out over just seeing a tampon, and I mean a tampon that is unused and still in the wrapper.” However, this one guy went to the store to buy his girlfriend tampoons. After his girlfriend’s classmates found out, “the girls at her school were apparently CRAZY jealous that she had been able to get me to do that.” He added, “It’s literally no different than buying toothpaste.”
9. Your Actions Have Consequences
Your actions always have consequences, good or bad it’s up to you. But there will be consequences, and they will get you on a path. One user said, “Choose wisely and think about what type of lifestyle you wish to have. Consequences will follow you all your life, and you have to learn to live with them.”
10. Just Because It’s Offered Doesn’t Mean You Have to Take It
This advice can apply to money, as one user said, “It’s not frugal if you don’t need it, even if it’s on sale.” Another user rephrased it as, “Just because you can doesn’t mean that you should.
